About KB Carports KZN

KB Carports KZN supplies and installs carports across KwaZulu-Natal. The work is the structure itself: galvanised steel with an IBR roof, aluminium, and shade net shadeports, in single, double and custom spans. Every price quoted is supplied and installed, and every quote is put in writing after someone has measured the site. Call 084 387 2354.

What KB Carports KZN builds

• Galvanised steel with IBR sheeting — a solid, watertight roof, and the most common choice inland of the coastal strip.
• Aluminium — does not rust, which is what earns its higher price within a few kilometres of the sea.
• Shade net shadeports — the cheapest covered parking. Blocks sun and softens hail without making the space watertight.

Standard sizes are a single at 3 m × 6 m and a double at 6 m × 6 m. Custom spans are built to the site.

How a job runs

1. Site visit. Someone measures the space, checks the ground and the access, and confirms what will actually fit.
2. Written quote. The span, the height and the roof material the price is based on are stated in writing. There is no charge and no obligation.
3. Installation. Posts are set and concreted, the frame is squared and levelled, then the sheeting or shade cloth goes on.
4. Handover. The site is cleared and the structure is checked over with you.

What it costs

A single carport starts at R6 500 supplied and installed and a double at R12 500. Shade net starts at R4 500 and aluminium at R12 000. The final figure depends on span, height, roof sheeting and site access. The full table by material and span sits on what a carport costs in Durban.

Where KB Carports KZN works

Across KwaZulu-Natal, including Durban, Umhlanga and North Durban, Pinetown and New Germany, Hillcrest and the Upper Highway, Verulam and Phoenix, Amanzimtoti and Kingsburgh, and the North Coast through KwaDukuza (Stanger).

Plans and municipal approval

Under SANS 10400 and the National Building Regulations, open-sided carports up to 40 m² generally fall under Minor Building Works. The decision rests with your local authority — eThekwini Municipality across most of the Durban metro, KwaDukuza Local Municipality on the North Coast — and estate or HOA rules run alongside it. KB Carports KZN states the span and height in the written quote so those figures are ready for building control. Full detail on carport approval in KwaZulu-Natal.
